  • Idiotic technical errors from writers who SHOULD know better...

    I like James Patterson's novels...MOST of them. I just finished 1st to Die. It was a good, entertaining read, except for the technical blunders involving the weapons.

    For example: Does anyone know what the following ARE or MEAN?

    * Glock Special
    * double clicking the action
    * 4.50 Colt Auto

    And my favorite:

    * clicking the safety off on a REVOLVER

    By now, you'd THINK Patterson would know better, or at least have a decent proof editor.

    "* 4.50 Colt Auto" - I wasn't aware there was one but I WANT one. A 4.5" bore autoloader would be way cool!

    "* clicking the safety off on a REVOLVER" - I actually saw a DA revolver with a safety once. As best I recall it was some POS import and I think it needed the safety for import points.

      Yeah, but I bet an SFPD Inspector wouldn't be carrying one. [Wink]
