Yesterday, John Prescott, Deputy Prime Minister of the UK(second only to Tony Blair) was being led by police past protesters, when one of them threw an egg at him, at point blank range.
Mr Prescott stopped, rubbed his cheek, and planted a left hook on the offending protester that was worthy of Mike Tyson.
The incident, together with the ensuing brawl, was captured on camera and broadcast to the nation. (It was the funniest thing I've seen on TV for a long time!)
Anyway, the officer on the scene arrested the protester. But North Wales police have been criticised for:
1. Allowing Mr Prescott to be led so close to protesters in the first place.
2. Not arresting Mr Prescott! After all, the Deputy PM threw thge offending punch (although, admittedly, the egg came first).
My question is, should the officer have arrested the Deputy Prime Minister, even though he was supposed to be escorting him? And what officer would have DARED?!
