I think that is the trail through Big Basin. Beautiful area, nice waterfalls... nice hike if it's what I'm thinking about. I didn't go all the way to the beach though, I think my round trip was only about 10-15 miles..... If the trail doesn't go by the waterfalls, it's worth the extra time/effort to take a quick stroll over to see them (one you can hike up the side of it).... and..... of course, obviously being the 'tough' sort... I notice you're starting at the BOTTOM... and hiking UP instead of the other way around.... LOL.... hiking at 2am doesn't sound like my kind of fun... and this is not an 'easy' hike... in case any of the east coasters were thinking about coming out this way.. LMAO ...
Have you ever noticed? Anybody going slower than you is an idiot, and anyone going faster than you is a maniac.

You can do it Fastie! Hop on a plane and get your fanny out there. We only have 4 more openings. And the rest are all marines like me. Represent law enforcement with honor.

And it is a scenic hike to.

Are you going to sing those 'marine' marching songs the whole way? .... and I'm not law enforcement, so (THANK GOODNESS) I don't qualify.

I'm sorry, the longest hike I'm interested in doing in 1 day is Mt Whitney, I think that's only 23 miles round trip, although a lot more elevation gain !!!!

Then again, your pace is only a couple miles per hour... but you know those marine guys... each one trying to out do the next, bet you finish the whole hike before noon. .. unless it's really muddy...then it will be by 1230. Have fun !! post pics if you have any time to take any !!!
