I can tell you why.
She's upset that you spend all day either on the computer, working, or complaining about today's youth. She wants you to take her out to a candelight dinner and spend a quiet night with her -- NO TV! It doesn't help that she's feeling old because her daughter is about to get married -- which means she's really close to being a grandmother, and she's probably worried that said daughter and said future son-in-law aren't planning on waiting for the wedding date to knock boots so she might already BE a grandmother and not just know it yet, and oh, drat, she's really crying 'cuz poor ol' Crazy had to work New Years Eve (and DAY!) and is tripping on the natural intoxication known as "lack of sleep combined with actute headpounding headache."

More plausible explanation.. Is she PMS'ing? No partner is worth your tears -
the one that is won't make you cry. - Anonymous

You didn't buy her an apron or a vacuum cleaner or a box of Ajax or something for Christmas, did you? "That's all I am to him, a maid he gets to have sex with, why couldn't he buy me a nice sharp knife to carve him up with argh stupid men."

who knows why, you should put your arms around her and tell her everything is OK and she can cry if she feels like it. Sometimes it helps to just cry and then things seem better... It's probably not too big of a deal or she'd already be crying....
If that doesn't work, you could start crying and then she'll be too busy comforting you to worry about herself...Have you ever noticed? Anybody going slower than you is an idiot, and anyone going faster than you is a maniac.

I ran her a hot bubblebath....hugged her...even offered to shave her legs(she's too smart for that).
CiaJ...she has her own knife collection, thank you."When you guys get home and face an anti-war protester, look him in the eyes and shake his hand. Then, wink at his girlfriend, because she knows she's dating a *****."

you say that like it's a BAD thing... LOL....
how about giving her a nice massage... snuggle with her.... maybe suggest she eats some nice carb food (her serotonin levels might be whacky).... don't leave her alone until she gets sick of you and tells you to leave....
You didn't forget an important date did you???Have you ever noticed? Anybody going slower than you is an idiot, and anyone going faster than you is a maniac.

Don't cry Jelly, I'm sorry... If I was there I would give you a hug !! Maybe it's this time of year. I was crying a couple days ago... something about someone not having time for me... but seemed to have plenty of time for 'chat rooms'.... (nobody on here knows him)...
I'm sure if shooter pressed the issue (in a kind way)... his wife probably has some idea why she's feeling sad... I think it's pretty rare to feel sad for absolutely no reason.. and in that case, better go to the doctor !!!Have you ever noticed? i think you all gave Shooter good advice... even the hormone therapy could contribute to it.

OK..so I'm NEVER home during the holidays.I work a LOT(!) during the holidays to give OTHER guys time with their families.
Our daughter has been home with us for 3 weeks. She goes back to college Next week.
We have to put up all the Christmas decorations(I love Christmas time)...and we had a BEAUTIFUL tree this year.
Her hormone treatments may be out of whack.
Anything else?"When you guys get home and face an anti-war protester, look him in the eyes and shake his hand. Then, wink at his girlfriend, because she knows she's dating a *****."
