  • Who's working New Year's Eve?

I'm working 1st shift, but get this:

3rd shift...from 2100-0700, there will be a total of TWO officers working in my whole county. 1 city officer, 1 county officer. This is on New Year's EVE....2 officers to handle ALL complaints, fights, DUIs......in the WHOLE COUNTY. 2.

1700-0500 New Years Eve, calls for service. Anything is better than being on the strip.

I'm working all day New Year's Eve: 10:30 am to about 11pm, but I'm sure we'll close early. Then I get to be back for a closing shift New Year's Day, but I might go in late ...

I am working an overtime DUI detail that night. This year I rather make extra money then spend it.

I'm working 2100 - 0600 on New Years Eve and just to make things even better 1700 - 0200 on New Years Day.

Once again we have continuous opening of licensed premises both pubs and clubs over the New Year period. I currently work in the custody office - police cell complex so I think we will be busy !!

Normally, I work 0900-1700 in the mountain bike unit in our downtown and park areas, but New Years Eve I've been drafted to assist the DUI Task Force and work 1800-0200. I haven't been off to celebrate it in so long I probably wouldn't remember what to do, LOL.

first time off Dispatch since I've worked there...

but will be on patrol with one of the Sgt's since both of my FTO's have taken the night off.

It's been very slow & quiet up here the last 2 years. y2k was the last busy one. People know we're out in force so don't drink/drive...

Working the 1st too... hoping for some good drunk & disorderlies... fights over football games etc. We tend to get more OUI's the 1st too. People driving home after pickling themselves watching all those bowl games...
