  • Hollywood marriages gone bad...

Tom Green/Drew Barrymore divorced after 5 months. Her first marriage lasted a whole 9 months.

In Hollywood one day is equal to one year of marriage.

Their marriage makes the Brad Pitt-Jennifer Aniston union like a golden anniversary. (BTW,I give 'em 1 more year tops).

    (Dis)Honorable mentions:

    Christie Brinkley- 4 marriages
    Roseanne- 3
Liz Taylor- 7 (or is it 8?)

What other notable ones have I forgotten?

And here I thought, with their stable mental conditions and lack of baggage, they'd be married 50 plus years

Most show business people seem to be interested in only one thing - their career. They don't know the meaning of loyalty, commitment and compromise. The fact that they try 3, 4 or 5 times is an indication of that. They aren't the only ones, of course, but it is more common among the rich and famous. I know more than one marriage that has lasted 30 or 40 years.

Zsa Zsa Gabor is like Liz Taylor...married 7 or 8 times.
Very few star marriages make it. They have these huge egos and then other's gorgeous and handsome people throw themseves at them.....too much tempation.

I would have a hard time figuring out why Hollywood marriages seem to end so quickly considering that I have never been rich or famous

You sort of have to admire the fact that they keep trying...

Not all Hollywood marriages go on the rocks. I wish I had that article I read some years ago, to show that there are some solid unions in Tinseltown.

                Lloyd Bridges

                Kirk Douglas

Ozzie and Harriet Nelson(until Ozzie died)

George Burns and Gracie Allen(until she died)

Robert Wagner and Natalie Wood(until her tragic death)

                Jimmy Stewart(until his death)

                Ernest Borgnine

                Bob Hope

Charles Bronson and Jill Ireland(until her death)

                ......and many, many more!

Yeah, but DMS not one of these couples got married after the Carter administration.

The silicone last longer than the wedding vows nowadays. It's not about Mr/Mrs Right anymore, it's Mr/Mrs Right Now.

Although I gotta confess... if I was a rich movie star I'd be happily trying to break Wilt Chamberlein's record...and I ain't talkin' hoops.

Ya, but to give them the benefit of the doubt.. when you are that famous, how do you know that someone truly loves you for who you are or do they love you for you money or the roles that you play? Perhaps they only find out after the marriage.

Good point, Brickcop. A lot of it anymore is to gain publicity.

A lot of people know about Desi and Lucy's divorce. What they don't know is that they were married for about 20 years. Go figure.

I think the fact that Roseanne has had three marraiges proves that point. How else would she be able to get three people to marry her?

I was just reading the mudslinging statements between Pam Anderson and Tommy Lee on www.thesmokinggun.com

Remember how in love they supposedly were? Almost as much and Cruise and Kidman....oh, forget that comparison
