        Looks personal to me.

I see this, like a lot of other threads, has been turned into a petty ****ing contest.

Retired, it's quite obvious nobody really cares about this guy who jumped, fell, was pushed, from the bridge. I don't feel sorry for him. I feel sorry for his parents, his wife or girlfriend, his children. I laughed when I read what happened to him. Why? Because it was funny. It's funny to me that someone can be stupid enough to try and do what he did. It's stupid to me that someone actually thinks their half-assed actions are going to stop something like a war.

Whatever I may shoot, you can count on it hitting the intended target.

I don't feel sorry for him either, but that wasn't my point. But what the h+ll, I 'll just forget about it.

"I wonder if these people think they will stop the war by protesting. It never worked before and it won't work now"

Very few of us think we will stop the war by protesting but that doesn't mean there aren't good reasons to try. Drawing strength from others that feel the same as you do, knowing you are at least making an effort, and knowing that public protests do at least draw some media attention is a start.

It might not make sense to the cynical but to those of us that still feel that America is a place where public opinion should be taken into account it makes as much sense as anything. Besides, some of us just enjoy beating our heads against walls

"Its unfortunate that all of the Anti-War protesters didnt jump off the bridge. I would gladly do traffic control for that."

Always nice to hear from the clear-headed rational side of the fence

By the way, none of what I just wrote is in support of the man that jumped (or fell or whatever) off the bridge. He was just crazy...not humorous...but crazy.

I didn't name anyone, nor was my warning directed at a specific person. It was a blanket "let's watch ourselves" for all to enjoy.

                    Good girl/all anti-war folks,

You are all entitled to your own opinions -obviously, that's one of the things that makes America great. Exercise your First Amendment rights-soldiers now and from times past are fighting and DYING for your right to do so.

I have no problem with people that are against the war. I do however, get very angry at seeing large numbers of anti-war protestors breaking laws, blocking traffic, and burning the American flag.

For any of you that have protested-please don't hide behind this charade that you also "support the troops". This is a load of crap. My close buddy is over there right now flying ch-47 ****hooks. My heart and prayers go out to him and ALL our servicemen. Considering that chopper casualties are currently the #1 cause of death over there right now, I really hope he makes it back in one piece.

I just hope that none of our boys over there have access to CNN and have to watch some of these scumbags on TV burning the American flag. And for those of you who protest but do it in a civil fashion, do you really think our men in uniform are watching you and thinking, "Well, there against the war, but I know they support me too..." I doubt it. They mentally lump you in with all the other hippy-looking, flag burning, traffic blocking scum, as undoubtedly many of us on this board do.

Think what you want about the war, and about Bush. But please support our troops!!!!
If you are going to go to an anti-war protest, stop and ask yourself why you are REALLY going.....I HIGHLY doubt it's to support our troops, so please don't hide behind that one anymore. You insult the memory of every veteran who has fought and died when you do that.

                    My personal opinion.

                    God Bless!

I'm stuck between a rock and a nail. While I do not find the loss of a life amusing, I can't say I feel sorry for the stupid S.O.B., either.

Poor, ignorant, misguided souls. Getting to be as bad as the 60's. Fools protested against the war, demanding that they "bring our boys home", but when "our boys" came home, they were greeted with a barrage of rocks, bottles, etc., and were called "baby killers." Cripes, couldn't win for losing!
Never make a drummer mad- we beat things for a living!

In case anyone is interested... this wasn't the first time that guy fell/jumped off the bridge. He did it years ago protesting something else (I don't remember exactly when/what... it was reported in the paper though)... guess the broken ribs and collapsed lungs the first time weren't enough for him.....
Have you ever noticed? Anybody going slower than you is an idiot, and anyone going faster than you is a maniac.

                                This phrase:
                                "some scum-sucking San Francisco lawyer"
                                is redundant.
