once AGAIN, it's NOT misfortune, it's STUPIDITY.

once AGAIN, i continue to laugh.

What other stupid tragedies do you laugh at? You really impress me with your maturity.

Sorry if it sounds immature, but the first thought that went through my head was: F-ing idiot!

Yes, I find it amusing. Not because he died. I'm sure someone on the planet loved him. But because he took a life threatening chance to accomplish absolutely nothing. Whether he got the sign up or not, the war in Iraq will continue. He essentially sacrificed his life for no purpose.

To me, that is monumentally stupid and monumentally stupid things do amuse me.

some idiot gets drunk and says "watch this" and proceeds to put a loaded gun to his head and it goes off...i laugh.

some idiot pours gas on the US flag and some gets on him, he lights a match and HE goes up in flames...i laugh.

some idiot protester (and he DOES have a right to protest peacefully !!) is told by police to move on, he gets defiant, gets in the cops face and spits on him and pushes him, he gets the ever loving **** kicked out of with a few clubs...i laugh.

some idiot palestinian tries to blow up a nightclub full of people but the bomb goes off before he reaches his destination and he gets blown to bits...i laugh.

        how's that for maturity levels??

I think you are funny! I wonder what kind of cop you might have been if an agency had ever been stupid enough to hire you!

My point, and I thought I was clear, was not that I didn't agree he was stupid, but that some found it amusing or humerous that he injured himself, or as you said, he died.

I agree that his act was not in the best definition of good judgement. Like you and the others, I sometimes laugh at dumb acts, but in this case, I don't laugh at his demise because of a principle he may have had.

i guess you just tolerate stupidity much easier than i do, principle aside.

Retired, I understand your point. He was, after all, someone's son, brother, or father.

I think the point Nickg and others are making is this: it's one thing to die for a cause (i.e. a soldier going to war for his country or doing something to save another's life) but climbing up a huge bridge just to put up a silly sign is just plain dumb. Had this man been climbing up there to save someone from jumping off or rescuing another person, that would be a whole other story. He lost his life over a silly sign that means absolutely nothing. We can rant and rave about the war all we want but it's still happening.

It's great to have a cause and have something to believe in and fight for, but a little common sense goes a long way.

I replied to you on the other post and sent ya a pm...of course that was before reading this...

If ya think I'm stupid, just come out and say so!

You do respond in a typical liberal fashion to people...attack them personally when you disagree with them.

Why don't you explain to us all why we should care about some IDIOT falling off a bridge...people have already posted here why his actions were not the wisest.

Are you one of these people who believes that ALL life is precious? Well I'm not. Too many stupid ones out there. This is just nature's way of thinning the herd.....

I think 156 said it well.

Dying, or risking your life, for something meaningful is one thing. Risking your life to put up a sign is another.

One is principal. The other is stupid. If stupid wasn't funny, Leslie Nielsen wouldn't make movies

And Rimfire is right......... the personal attacks need to cease.

If you read my comments carefully, you will note that I didn't say you were stupid. I said there are probably some people who think you are stupid. Accusing someone of being stupid is relative. Compared to Einstein in mathematics, most of us are stupid. But that doesn't make you generally stupid. Okay?

                        Who have I attacked personally?

Am I one of those people who think ALL life is precious? I don't think so! I don't think the life of a convicted killer is precious. I don't think the life of a child molestor is precious. I don't think the life of a rapist is too precious. Pehaps you might have had a better understanding of me if you had ridden with me in a radio car in Los Angeles before deciding what my philosphies are in life.

I think I have already posted that I didn't think his actions were smart, need I say more? And I don't reacll saying that you or anyone else should care about him, did I? I was just curious why anyone would laugh at his death without knowing more about him. What if he is a responsible citizen, never been arrested, never on welfare, supports the DP, and the only opposing view he has from you is he opposes the war?

If you think it was a personal attack, I will apologize right now. I didn't intend it as a personal attack. However if that is the way it came across, I won't make that mistake again.
