An anti-war protester who climbed one of the towers on the Golden Gate Bridge fell into San Francisco Bay early this afternoon.

The California Highway Patrol said the unidentified man may have been trying to post a sign onto the side of the bridge before falling 250 feet into the waters below.

A spokesperson for the U.S. Coast Guard said that the protester was picked up and that guardsmen were administering CPR to him.

The way I heard it he jumped off the bridge. Regardless anyone could fall it doesn't neccasarily have to be a reflection of your IQ.

Being ON it is the relection of his common sense-connect the dots here. Common sense is more important that IQ.

That's like saying that if someone catching fire while smoking and pumping gas it's not a reflection of their IQ. It MOST CERTAINLY IS a reflection of their potential contribution to society, which the anti-war protestor on the bridge is probably lacking.

i could care less WHAT they are protesting. you are STUPID enough to climb up the GGB, try to hang a banner, you fall, you're dead, i laugh....simple as that.

it's not like this was some major tragedy like a child getting shot in gang crossfire, or a family losing it's life in a housefire. it's STUPIDITY!!!!!

Climbing the Golden Gate Bridge (an activity that's both dangerous and illegal) simply to air one's political viewpoints shows a lack of both intelligence and maturity.

At least this idiot didn't hurt or kill anybody else on the way down.

I'd say the same thing. It's not the cause...it's the method.

It'll be nice to hear from H8Criminals about what happened here (that he can talk about), since the bridge is part of his patrol area, but due to the current terror alerts it'll probably be awhile before we hear from him again.
