  • State Quarters

Does anyone here collect or are collecting the state quarters as they come out or are you one that does not care either way?

I myself have been collecting them and I sort through all the change I get to keep any state quarters I am given in change. I have a nice collection put together right now and have invested some monies into them. I am also filling up five collections of each for the kids. Three state maps and two booklets. I have one collection that is complete (both philly and denver mint). If I look I probally have three complete sets.

I am also looking for anyone on the east coast that is into collecting them as to trade quarter for quarter of Denver mint for Philly mint.

I havent been collecting any of them, but I did save a North Carolina quarter that says "First Flight" instead of "First In Flight", these gonna be worth anything in your opinion?

if all of them say first flight then it will be worth the same as all the quarters if it is a misprint it will be worth a lot more. I know that the misstamped penn. quarters are worth a lot more than the $1.25 that the normal ones are worth.

I have successfully collected all the states up to this point. I have not tried to get all from one particular mint. It's just lucky if I remember to keep the quarter to put in the book.

IF you miss one hightower just let me know I will try and fill any order I believe I have extras of both Denver and a few Phillies. The only ones I can not fill are those for Delaware and New Jersey. I know that Delaware is worth $1.75 each and Penn, New Jersey, Georgia, and Conn. is all worth $1.25 each.

I've got them all, but nothing uncirculated or anything like that. I just save all the ones I get and wonder why when I'm broke.

Although lately, I've been spending the Connecticut ones because I have so damn many of them.

I didn't know they have any value, other than 25 cents.......but I doubt that applies to the circulated ones like I have.

I'm not planning on them being valuable, because everyone is saving them. Just like the Bicentennial quarters that were worth less than something like a regular 1974 quater. The 74 was minted in a smaller number and there were fewer in circulation.

The only thing I save now for value later is all theose Playboy's I have for investment purposes only

Night the circulated ones are at the value I quoted above the uncirculated ones are over $2.00 each. If I was you I would hang on to them you never know when you might be able to sell a few.

Are you getting a proof set from each mint. Most proof sets come from the San Fransico mint which just does Proof sets To get the all the proofs you will have to order them from all three mints. IF you get a mint set from your local bank you only getting five quarters all from the same mint.

What we get is the mint sets from the US Mint.

                              Mint sets

We get three sets every year, and have since about 1964.

If your are into collecting, ther are fairly reasonably priced.
