At the Lewisville school where Jackson was in the first grade, counselors were called in to help students.
"We're hoping to concentrate more on the school and helping the children that are still here to deal with this tragedy," said Margaret Gurecky, a school spokeswoman. She said teachers are equally upset.

In my 20 years, I have NEVER seen a time when 'grief counselors' were needed, much less 'forced' on students, as seems to be en vogue these days.
Children are MUCH more resilient than adults give them credit for, and I have a hard time thinking that FORCING young children to dwell on the death of a friend is 'beneficial'....or needed.
My apologies to any counselors present.
