Man accused of delivering drugs in front of cop
Authorities say he pulled up at traffic stop and jumped out with a bag of marijuana
A Lodi man was arrested Friday after he showed up at the traffic stop of a friend and tried to bring her marijuana in front of Columbia County Sheriff's Deputy Brian Pulvermacher, Columbia County Sheriff's Lt. Wayne Smith said.
Pulvermacher pulled over the car of Monica F. Johns, 35, of Sauk City just north of Okee because she was driving with her high-beam headlights on. Pulvermacher's police dog, Lee, then detected marijuana, Smith said.
While Pulvermacher was busy arresting Johns on tentative charges of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernailia, Timothy J. Cone, 45, pulled up in his car, Smith said.
"Timothy Cone pulls up in front of her and gets out with a bag of dope," Smith said. "He should have seen (Pulvermacher and his sports utility vehicle). It's got real bright lights on it. It was marked, and he was in uniform."
Cone, who then tried to hide the baggie, was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana with intent to deliver.
