  • Curse you 12 year old crack dealers

Of course I am referring to the Girl Scouts of America. By crack, I mean Caramel deLites cookies. (Does anyone know why they are not called Samoas anymore?)

Those caramel deLite cookies are so good. How can someone expect to stay on a diet when they are so addicting? I eat just one, and then they sit on the counter mocking me, so I have to eat more.

probably because American Samoans found it offensive??

every one else seems to get offended these day by something, so why wouldn't girl scout cookies offend Samoans??

they better change the name of those damn "thin mints" too because if you eat too many of them you WON'T stay thin and skinny people will call in the ACLU to sue.

    and another thing...........
    I'll post, You argue.

I just double-checked my stash; the boxes I have are still called Sommas. Girl Scout cookies are the sole redeeming feature of America! [Eek!]

Wait! Update! Apparently in some places, the name was changed in the mid-80's:
          http://www.gsreelfoot.org/history/history3.html

But these days, the name depends on who bakes the cookies. There are two bakeries nationwide that make all the cookies. At ABC Bakers they call them Carmel Delights: http://www.girlscoutcookiesabc.com/index.asp

At Little Brownie Bakers, they call them Samoas. http://www.littlebrowniebakers.com/

Phew. Not even hired by a police department and I already have my investigative skills sharp. [Wink]

Just finished my box of Samoas today. mmmm... Time to start on the thin mints.

Also, check out Dryer's Girl Scout Cookie Ice Cream. The Samoa is heavenly and the Thin Mint is low fat. Good stuff.

            yummy yummy yummy

Oh, the curse of being a teacher AND a cop in a small town...

I always buy ONE box of cookies from every Girl Scout at my school that asks me. THEN I have to buy a box from each GROUP of Girl Scouts selling them at WalMart and every other strip mall in town on Saturdays.....

                    10-98: that's so sad.

When I was living in the dorms in San Diego, they'd bring the girl scouts through. Figure 100 people per hall, 4 halls per floor, 2-4 floors per dorm. These Girl Scouts were raking in the money.

Shooter, I hope you have a big freezer or lots of friends to share them with !!!

I just finished my thin mints... those are the best. I bought a couple others but they aren't as good (I let other people eat those, but the thin mints were off limits !!!) I was good this year, only bought 1 box of thin mints instead of filling the freezer with them !!!

Wow, cookies would be good right now, if they weren't in my desk at work... [Frown]

Anyone who finds themselves with excess girl scout cookies due to an inability to say "no" (Didn't Mrs. Reagan teach you anything?) can send them to
