The following message was sent to all Officer.com users today:
Dear Forum Users of Officer.com
On Friday, Cygnus Business Media acquired the Officer.com site and domain from longtime owner and founder, Massachusetts police sergeant Jim Meredith.
Jim remains on board, as well as the dedicated moderators of the forums, as part of our new team. Jim will be the site's content consultant, and help us further Officer.com as the web's leading portal for law enforcement.
We would like to thank each of you for being part of Officer.com. Since 1996, the site has been serving the needs of police officers and law enforcement professionals online. Our forum users and moderators are among the most dedicated of any group online and we hope you'll stay with us and help us build on the great reputation of Officer.com.
You'll notice some changes to the design and navigation of Officer.com over the coming months. But as for the forums, other than some new technology and perhaps a few new forums, look for things to be business as usual. We'll be seeking your input reguarly on what you like, and don't like, and want to see and not on the expanded site.
For a preview of what to expect on the expanded Officer.com, please logon to http://www.officer.com/launch/preview.shtml
Now, its time for us to work together to take it to the next level.
Please take a few minutes to participate in our online survey about your needs online as a law enforcement professional. And, in doing say, get a chance to win up to $200 in gift certificates for police and emergency services apparel and gifts from RescueTees.com
Just go here for the survey now:

Thanks again for being part of Officer.com. In the coming weeks, months and years we hope to strengthen our relationship with each of you as the web's source for law enforcement.
Thanks
