  • How many Vets?

Just curious as to how many vets are here. What branch? and when severed?

    USMC
    1987 - 1994
spent my last 3 years on Embassy duty - Nassau, Bahamas; Havana, Cuba; and Singapore.

Was on the New Orleans during the Gulf war. Then for some reason, once the ground war started, someone thought we should get off and walk around in the sand.

Iowa National Guard 1993-1994(The "Try One" program).

Mostly was an Infantry grunt; also cross trained and worked as an anti-tank gunner, unit supply/arms room, motor pool tool room, and did special duty in a military band for a few months(drummer), and helped the MP's for about a month fingerprinting dependent kids(Operation Child Find). I got to do ride-alongs with the MP's and "get my feet wet."
I now wear a "green hat." I belong to an AMVETS post.
