Let me preface my question by saying:

I KNOW I AM SCREWED and there is not much anyone can do to help me at this point but here goes

Ask your doctor for a cortizone shot or something. In fact, call your doctor and ask him if you can do anything for you. Nurse your knee and get some GOOD runnning shoes. It will help to absorb the shock.
Oh... Oh... I know you di-int!

Right before you run, down about 4 twinkies and a snicker bar and maybe the sugar boost will give u an additional 4 or 5 yards of speed.

The only thing I can suggest is don't work out too hard the day before and you really need to believe YOU CAN DO IT !!! Eat right, I think you'll be surprised how much you improve in even just a week. But... don't kill yourself, if you over-do it and hurt yourself, you won't be running at all and then you won't make it... Good luck... post your results !!!

(I'd work out more than 2 minutes too...just not full out the whole time...that will help your stamina too)...

Have you ever noticed? Anybody going slower than you is an idiot, and anyone going faster than you is a maniac.

some agencies will have a clause that will allow you to take the test at a later time if you can show a valid reason as to why you can not take the test at the prescribed time. I would check in with the human reasourses department and see if you can qualify for a later time and date as you are still recovering from a surgery. They will probally make some type of arrangement for you.

                Should I down a bunch of energy drinks...red bull...hansen's energy...ripped fuel...or would I crash hard.

I plan on eating some oatmeal and clean carbs before the run.

This is the Fitness test to qualify for the next phase for the CHP. I am not an officer.

Try a bike or X-country ski machine to build up the endurance. They are not as hard on the knees as running.

Save the running for the test.

I would only use the recommended amount. Some of these products can cause adverse reactions if overdone.

Sounds like a good idea. Juast don't eat too much

If your drive and determination are high enough, you will succeed. Make sure you stretch really well before starting.

                    Best of luck

What everyone's already posted is good. Try longdistance running the next two days, then some quick sprints day 3. Day 4 rest, and just eat well and relax. Day 5, do a light run. You'll do fine!!

Don't stress to much. First ask about getting a later test date because of a recent knee injury. But make sure you stress the importance that the injury is minor and just requires more time to heal properly. They might frown on someone with a known knee problem. And don't run the day before your test.

I cannot thank you enough everyone!

I will put all these things together and give it my best. The last thing I thought would "get me" would be the physical but now it is the thing I am stressing the most about!
