  • Liberal Cops

Is there such a thing? I've never seen or met one.

I think this goes into the category of elvis sightings, bigfoot, and rosie o'donnell's weight loss.

    As a rookie, yes.
    5 years thereafter, no.
15 years into career, absolutely not possible.

I think Jim summed it up pretty well.

I've seen a few come into LE as social liberals, but never seen one that stayed liberal socially.

I dunno...the FOP once said that Bill Clinton was the best friend that LE ever had in the White house [Eek!]

Which is why they've never seen a DAMNDIME of Dave money.

I personally know two cops who are quite liberal; one female and one male. I tried and tried to show them the light, but alas some people can't be reached. {{{sigh}}} All the others I know are right wingers and proud of it.

are they gay? where do they live? Liberalism just doesn't fit in with LE, it's like a total clash (as witnessed in san francisco protests)

I would think that if someone was a liberal and in law enforcement, they would never admit to it. I don't know why anyone would want to admit to being a liberal right now anyways.

RoboCop, neither are gay. One lives in VA and the other is in the midwest. They're both originally from the south, if that matters.

I've know a couple that professed to be libs and voted that way, but their actions betrayed them. I used to have great fun with one of them. When he had a trainee or something, I'd espouse my belief that all true citizens should be required to be armed at all times. The poor person in the car with him would catch it pretty bad all night. There is still one guy at the department that went through it and will bring it up every now and then.

What do you mean by liberal. Politically or pet peeves on the job?

Some enforcement is by the book, others up for discretion.

Concerning the difference between man and the jackass: some observers hold that there isn't any. But this wrongs the jackass.

My ex-husband was liberal when i was with him, but a few years after when i talked to him i noticed he had "made the change" lol. Dont know if the job did it or not.

I feel that i'm liberal on MOST (not all) issues. i'm proud of it and of my beliefs. to each their own.
