  • LE Seminars/Supplementary Training

As some of you know, I'll start training to be a reserve this year and after college (couple years or so), I'll be a fulltimer first locally and then I'll go federal. (Just some background for those of you who haven't 'seen me around' yet. ) I'd like to also simply tell you how much I appreciate what the everyday policeman does as far as upholding the image of the profession. My dad was in law enforcement for a number of years and I grew up in this environment. For personal reasons, though, I opted to choose the career myself.

Anyway, enough of the bull****, right?

What are some of the better seminars/training sessions you've been to (defensive tactics, driving, h2h, EVOC, firearms, whatever...) outside of your regular department requirements?

I'd like to start going to a few over my summers while I'm in school to get my feet wet.

    Thanks in advance. Stay safe.

Try the Calibre Press Street Survival seminar.

Some of the larger peace officer associations in your state probably hold periodic training. Finally, any of the community colleges that host police academies usualy have frequent, one time seminars.
Going too far is half the pleasure of not getting anywhere
