Low Pay Prpoblems
The average NOPD officer gets about 28,000 a year and even worst the Louisiana State Police gets only 22,000 a year. There only The Troopers seem to have a raise on the horizon. The big benefit is they get a take home car BIG DEAL.

Hey, if that is all the taxpayers want to pay, they better not complain about you guys...
cops are like anything else, you get what you pay for. If you have a low pay scale, and therefor minimal budget for other things like equipment and training, you are likely to get some officers who may be sub par, or you will lose all those you do train to other areas where they can make a living...
I know I am not moving to the Big Easy for a carrer change!Education is nothing without experience to back it up.
