  • "Louisville Metro" Gets new Chief

Robert C. White chosen to lead new Metro Police Department

Metro Mayor-elect Jerry Abramson announced today that he has chosen the police chief of Greensboro, N.C., to lead the new Louisville/Jefferson County metro police department. Robert C. White, 50, will lead more than 1,200 officers in Louisville. The agency will be among the 25 largest police departments in the nation, with an operating budget of $120 million. Chief White previously served as assistant police chief/patrol operations officer for the Washington, D.C., Metropolitan Police Department. He also spent two years as the chief of police for the District of Columbia Housing Authority. In Greensboro, White oversaw a staff of more than 500 officers and a budget of $47 million.

    Anyone know of this fellow?
