how about this POLL ?

would you like to see 3 strikes and you're out (LIFE IMPRISONMENT) brought in
A) for all offenders convicted on their third indictable offence
B) for all offenders convicted on their third indictable offence if one of the 3 convictions, was for violent crime
C) .....yes but only if all 3 convictions were for violent crime
D) NO - I don't agree with 3 strikes and you're out

can't think of any other votes for this but that should get ppl interested !?

my slant on this IS, that far more prisons should be built in the UK
our prisons are LITERALLY creaking at the seams and many contain 2 or 3 times more prisoners than they were designed for
although it could be said, good this gives the scumbags a "rough ride"
well ok but this also allows the JUDGES head honchos to turn around to all the courts and say "our prisons are full, jail less offenders, actually only jail offenders if they're violent because we've run out of room"

REALLY
this "instruction" is regularly publicised in the UK national press
while this situation continues the UK will never see 3 strikes and you're out, because ANYBODY can say "our prisons are full, where will we put these poor misguided souls ?"

TRUE... well build some more prisons THEN !!

they are !

they do their armed robbery or GBH, then do a few years inside ...get released, do a few more armed robberies, maim wound or SORT anybody who get in their way, IF they get caught, do a few more years inside, back out do a few more robberies and we stand there and let them do this ??? yes that's right, who's the mug ??
