Fire Extinguishers

I am going on my second fire extinguisher call. Both of them the juvies discharged them. The first call, one of the kiddies inhaled the dry powder.

These are the dry chemical type and both calls were at different ends of the county. Anyone know if these kids are getting high off these? Anyone else see this trend? I hope that they are just being mischevious?

We have kids discharging them at school on occasion, but I'm not aware of anyone inhaling them.....yet.

The first call, the kid was sprayed with the extinguisher by another kid. He inhailed quite a bit.... not sure if it was accidental or not.

The second call, it turns out the juvies were putting out an imaginary fire.

IIRC, most dry chemical fire extinguishers contain some sort of dry ammonium phosphate substance. I don't think this can cause a high, but it can cause respiratory problems if you breathe in too much.

That kid is lucky that he got sprayed with a dry chemical extinguisher and not a CO2 extinguisher. They can actually cause some pretty serious frostbite.
