Get to know someone a year ahead of you in the same program, and milk them for details/help and dare I say it, previous midterms and finals.

That's the best advice I can think of other then;

"Don't let school work get in the way of your education"

I am finishing my Bachelors Degree and starting my Masters program in criminal Justice, I have had many great professors like someone just said some teachers will focus on the law side of it some if your lucky will be working Officers and you will get the real side of it.
Books are very expensive. But are great reference material, I have tons of reports that I have done. Not to brag but I have a 3.8 GPA...so ...if ya need any help shout out I know how tough it can be juggling life and college.
