    Romans 13

    Submission to the Authorities

1Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. 2Consequently, he who rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. 3For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and he will commend you. 4For he is God's servant to do you good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword for nothing. He is God's servant, an agent of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer. 5Therefore, it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also because of conscience.

What is the church function about?

Going to a burger joint doesn't make you a Big mac. Going to church doesn't make one a Christian.

Humans are humans. Everyone messes up. Keep the faith.

I can think of about 10 reasons off the top of my head that a person could be removed from a church and it not be something that reflects badly on Christians.

I'm guessing our legislature could too since we have a specific statute for disrupting a church service.

Depending on the function, the church may be expecting some trouble. They may have even received a threat recently. Who knows? I'd love to provide service at a service. I couldn't get my kids to sit still at church and we finally just quit going. I guess I'm pretty much to blame for that. I just got tired of hearing, "I'm bored". Now they trade off reading from the Bible for me while I'm cooking (mom's taking some night classes now.) It works well for us...for now.

                Hey guys...back off a little bit...okay. [Wink]

I can see how he would feel that way if he is not a Christian.

Afterall, we cops are all racists since Mark Furman was one, and we are allon the take since those guys Serpico testified against were, and...

I have attended church regularly for many years and it's sad to say, but I've seen more fighting, bickering, and backstabbing there than I've ever seen among my non-Christian friends and peers.

My post every Wednesday and Sunday is at a very large church. I've found that some very mean and nasty people attend church regularly. But the large percentage are very nice.

                      What do you expect ?

At least the people are there tring to improve themselves. Nobody starts out as a "model" Christian. It takes a lifetime of training an faith to be "good" enough just to be reconized as a "good person" by those that have no faith or beilief. Not one can be or will ever be perfect.

Ive seen absloutley terrible people completley change in a short time. Some never change and some get better bit by bit. It takes an ongoing commitment and trust to continue on.

At least they try, which is alot more than most people.

someone is being removed from the staff or board or something and they think this person and his/her sympathizers will cause problems.

doesn't christianity teach you to be civil?

Yeah, but it's still up to a human to learn it.
