I just almost posted in the Officers Only forum and caught myself in time. Moderators have not noticed how much better Mitzi is about posting in the correct forums! I used to post in the wrong forums all the time because I never looked at what forum I was replying to! lol
I just almost replied to the Officers Only Forum....AND I DIDN'T! YAY! lol Although I still say that being a mother qualifies me as a police officer!(also, as an EMT, Chauffer, etc...)
I was reading where some departments didn't want flags on officers uniforms or cars. What could be the reason for that?????

My department allowed us to wear yellow ribbons for about two weeks after 9\11, but then sent down "the word" that we neede to remove them. They let us "get by" with flag pins, though.

Generally, here anyway, if it's not part of the issued and approved uniform, we're not allowed to wear it.

Some supervisors are powermongering aholes who think absolutely everything that goes on in the world must be approved by them. So when they see an officer wearing a flag pin that they didn't give permission for they freak out.

Ya think? Kind of sounds like what some people think of cops in general huh? Of course, I argee with you whole heartedly but have been lucky and never had to work for one of them. One of my buddies in patrol just got one of them as a newly promoted Lt. though. First night in and the guys already got 2 Sgts waiting at the Capt. door Monday morning to tell him what an Ahole this guy is. That has to be some kind of record.
