DALLAS -- Crimefighting took on a new meaning for the Dallas police chief when thieves stole more than $5,000 in appliances from his newly-constructed house.
"Like anyone who is a victim of crime, it makes you angry and frustrated and makes you want to keep it from happening again," said Police Chief David Kunkle.
The thieves broke in Sept. 20 and made off with a microwave and oven, police said. No suspects have been identified.
Kunkle and his wife moved in to the new Tudor-style house in Old East Dallas on Friday.
