Hey Blue, Congratulations both on your up coming marriage, AND on the department you chose to go to work for. There are not a lot of them out there that would have given you that support.

Of course a lot of them would not have "had the time" to do it. But I think it was a neat and probably very unique situation!

Thats great man, congratulations. Count yourself lucky for having a PD that will stand up for you like that and that is willing to be involved in you as more than just someone holding a position for them.

A buddy of mine proposed by having another unit in his city stop his girlfriend for a traffic violation. The officer who did the stop faked it like he wanted her out of the car for field sobriety and when she got out he was waiting on one knee.

That's great! Back when my mom wrote for our local magazine, she wrote this story on all kinds of odd proposal situations that people used. I'm sure that one definitely would have been in there!
