It was just on the Chicago TV news that Johnnie "Cockroach" Cochran just won a wrongful death case against Chicago for 18 million.
Ms Latanya Haggerty was involved in a 31 block car chase which ended in a wreck. When she got out she was shot by a rookie female officer. The officer yelled for her to stop and thought she had a gun in her hand. No gun was found and the family said it was a cell phone or a shiney padlock. Nobody knows for sure. Johnnie sued for the family for 100 million. They are getting 18 plus the Mayor has to personally apologize to the family and say the police were wrong.
Three cops lost their jobs for violating the department chase policy the fouth a rookie in training was suspended for a year. No one was charged regarding the use of force.
Now the mouths in the hood want the police charged with murder. Talk about a pound of flesh.
