(this is the Presa Canario (sp) case where the dogs killed the woman in the apartment bldg hallway)

    Jellybean,
this was an odd case however I think I will agree with this verdict. too many weird things went on between these people and their dogs.

Yes I agree-they were so blatantly uncaring, even after repeated warning signs.

First of all, I would never have owned dogs like that. I sem to remember where these 2 were trained for attacking but I could be wrong. If I DI have dogs like that, they would never have left the apt without muzzles. Even then, their sheeo weight could have still caused injuries.
I saw a juror saying how it was very difficult to even be in the same room as these two people because of their arrogance. And I can't help but believe that they wanted this to happen to this woman because she was a lesbian.
Now, they are going after the landlord in a civil suit because he did not provide enough safety and allowed these people to have these dogs.
The jury seemd truly disguar=ted with these 2 people. The woman being charged said she did everything posible to safe the woman yet she had only 2 small scratches on her hand.
These people seemingly showed no remorse and were very arrogant, especially him and I think that's what made the jurors minds up.
Not surprisingly, even tho I think it was just the one dog who killed her, they have both been put down. Rightfully so because the other one was just as capable of doing the same thing.

I was delighted with the verdict. I don't see how they could have come to any other conclusion. I didn't believe the story of the defendant trying to shield the victim. Neither of them acted as though they really cared about the victim. The only emotion I saw was from the woman when the verdict was read.

The jury got this one right. Those people knew how dangerous their dogs were and that somebody was gonna get hurt sometime. People like that deserve all they have coming to them.

Now they'll probably appeal the verdict saying their lawyer was incompetent... why anyone, especially a lawyer, would hire such a goof-ball is beyond me... Now it will be interesting to see what their sentance is, and then they can join their adopted son, cornfed, up in Pelican Bay where our our officer.com poster, psycho c/o can keep them busy making license plates !!!

Fast 1, We don't make license plates (LOL). I am so happy these two pieces of $H!T got found guilty. My only question is how the are the Aryans feeling about a female-hispanic lawyer representing the adopted mother of one of their members. I really hope that Noel gets sent up here to do his time, maybe he'll even be able to be cellies with his son. You've got to love the out come of this trial.

Its such a shame that the lady had to die. Someone told me it took her 10 minutes to die. I can't even imagine the torture she went thru. Those people got exactly what they deserve. Its just a shame it won't bring her back.

Street signs? or, oh I know.... road work chain gang? Don't prisoners earn like 10 cents an hour for working on such projects?

I think that pelican bay being the warehouse of the hardened criminals should have them playing green rock white rock. This is a whole yard filled with rocks of varing size that are painted one side green and the other white and they would have to go out and turn the rocks over to the color of the day. LOL I should be a warden LOL OR is that too harsh a punishment?

I am very glad to hear that they got convicted of murder. I think that owners of dogs should watch closely how their dog reacts to strangers and if they are aggressive when they should not be then some training needs to be done. I see no problem in a pet protecting a family member from a person or animal. That is my thoughts on it.

I agree with the verdict too. the whole thing is so incredible. its bad enuf if you're walking along a street and a dog has gotten loose from somewhere and attacks. this woman was in the hallway of the building she lived in, trying to go inside her door, and the owner was WITH the dogs. it's horrible.

I really have to give an "attaboy" to the prosecutor on this one also. I didn't keep up with anything but FOXnews, however it was obvious he did it right. Everything they tried, he was on them like stink on sh** to counter, and his paper trail of evidence was nothing less than exceptional.

I hoped this would be the verdict when I heard early on that he was able to start with the DOCUMENTED position of the prior owner of the dogs (that they should be destroyed or kept away from anyone due to their nature) and the DOCUMENTED position of the vet (that Bane should be destroyed due to his violent nature, and they were too violent, and probably would hurt someone) and the DOCUMENTED times they were notified that they had been openly hostile toward people, and finally the letters where they THEMSELVES showed their non chalant position on this matter, THEN THE ARROGANT PRIC*S HAVE THE NERVE TO GO BEFORE A COURT AND SAY THEY DIDN'T KNOW THEY WOULD DO THIS????????????

Maybe some lifer will show them some REAL beastiality...

I LOVE dogs more than you can imagine, but these two needed removing from the face of the Earth long ago.

IF I read everything right the lady while on the stand for three days of testomony gave eight to ten different scenerios of what happened in that hallway where the young lady was killed. That is quite a few different versions of what happened I would think thus if I was a juror I would think everything she said on the stand was a outright lie. The only other person who could tell what happened that day is no longer with us but I agree the DA did a good job with the paper trail and yes those dogs should have been destroyed a long time ago.

Klar, if we at Pelican Bay ever get to vote on our next Warden you have defenitly got my vote.

Fast-1, I'm sorry to inform you we don't make anything at Pelican Bay, we did have a shop to make shoes for the prisoners, but they moved it South after the big riot. We do have something like a chain gang, the only difference is it's level 1s and there not chained together. They go out with an Officer and clean up around the county. Well, I guess we do make one thing at P.B., according to Prisoner's rights groups we make sane people crazy, but I don't see it that way at all. They had to be a little crazy before we got our hands on them.
