  • Blue Lights at Christmas

Well, I just got back from Walmart. I went in to buy a tube of tooth paste and came out with $158.00 less in my wallet. Just gotta love "Wally World."

Anyway, their Christmas displays reminded me to post this.

For those doing outside decorations this year, please put up at least one string of solid blue lights. This is in memory of all of the fallen police and firefighters over the years and across the country.

This was started in Flagstaff, AZ last year to commemorate the KOD of office Jeff Moritz. But what started in Flagstaff, has (in no little part thanks to this forum,) moved all across the country.

Sounds good to me. I'll have to buy some before the idea catches on and I can't find any.

Don, My blue light has been in the porch light since last year. But when i hang a string of blue lights do i hang a string of red also for the firefighters or does the blue stand for both?

The blue stands for both. But hang whatever you want to, as long as it isn't your husband.

        uh OR ME!!!

We have always done our house in all blue. It's so pretty and now I know it stands for something!

We usually do all white exterior lights but this year I'll be sure to include blue.

Darn, I've always wanted to be hung.

In the county I live in we have the wife of a Roseville PD officer who has started this. We always burn a candle style blue light in the front window of the house.

Just remember to please be careful over the holidays. I really hate to see officers hurt and or killed over the holiday season. It always seems to happen though. Please be safe and yes I will say it here even though it may not politically correct, "God Bless."
