  • This is funny! Talk about bad luck...

The media was interviewing one of Cop Killer Eric Daley's supposed friends about the whole incident. Well, his picture ended up in the newspaper. He was sitting on his stoop (sp) drinking a beer. Well, that was enough for his probation officer to get him for violation. He's not supposed to be drinking.

    What a dork!

It's common around here if the crime is alcohol-related. If they don't like the terms, the crook can refuse probation and take a county jail sentence of six months to a year. Giving them probation is a favor. Another term of probation on any drug or theft charge is that the defendant waive their Fourth Amendment right and be subject to search by any law enforcement officer at any time of the day or night, with or without probable cause.

Random probation searches on those people is almost always productive, usually turning up drugs, paraphernalia and/or stolen property. They always whine about the search and I always remind them that when they are sentenced for the new offense, to refuse probation and request a prison or county jail sentence. For some reason, they always accept a grant of probation.
