Good luck!!! I'm hoping I will be either going to the academy in Jan. or getting my masters degree, I need to make a choice really quick. But good luck and it's almost time.

        p01ic3m4n,
Did I miss a post? What are you going to do?

        J-WS6,
Good Luck! I know how it goes. I couldn't wait to get my new job. It seemed like forever. Now my FTO training is seeming like forever. 3 more weeks and I am on my own.

Hopefully it is an easy academy. What I mean by that is, not much yelling or physical stuff. I know I wouldn't like to go through a para-military academy.

Best of luck to you. It's a very tough time, but well worth it (speaking for hubby of course!). It's also rough on the wife and children (if you have any) and takes a lot of patience and understanding to let him/her have the time and space to be able to do the best possible job. Boy though, was I glad to see it end! LOL

BTW...if you get injured, even the smallest cut or abrasion...fill out an incident report immediately. We were screwed when hubby fell on a run and skinned his hand. He blew it off thinking it would heal over. Well, after it got infected we were stuck with a bill from the hospital that the state never got around to paying because the paperwork was messed up due to him not filling out an incident report. Learn from us. He did fill one out eventually, but there was added paperwork, etc. We could still trace everything back, go through some red tape and get the money but now it's not worth the effort. The people involved at the time are no longer there.

I actualy picked the most para-military acadamy I could find. It all goes in my favour when I come to fill out employment apps in a few months.

The first 3 or so weeks are entierly physical conditioning and drill instructors
