  • Yet another Crown Vic fire

Local deputy was lucky to not be in his crusier when it was rear-ended...

I believe this is standard on the 2006 models...

(Note that this fire was ignited on purpose during the collision to test the system)

That's neat and everything...but why don't they actually FIX the problem?
Bill Cosby: Stewie, what do you think candy is made out of?
Stewie Griffin: Sunshine and farts! What the hell kind of question is that?!

Because Crown Vics are made by Ford.

NOt sure about a lot of departments but ours has moved the spare tire which normally lays flat in the trunk to standing it up in the trunk. The retro shop designed a bracket that hold the tire up, witht he width across left/right. Supposd to reduce the risk of fire because the tire is no longer able to puncture the tank.

Do many other departments retro their CV's similar?

Sheriff's crusier hit in rear by dump truck today did not explode. Just by luck. Crown Victorias should never be police cars just taxi cabs and security guard patrol vehicles.
