Originally posted by NavyCopI won't say they were ugly but I remember watching an episode of Cops when they were some where in Florida and the all the cops had White shirts, and thinking that it was the dumbest idea ever for a uniform choice for patrol officers. A cop in the white shirt wrestles just one person to the ground and now that cop looks absolutly unprofessional and sloppy.but ossifer im not to drive to drunkComment

I don't like brown. I think the best looking uniforms are the dark blue ones our local cops wear. Looks good on em.Comment

To my recollection, Columbus, OH has white shirts. Not necessarily ugly, but not too practical and there are better looking uniforms. The New Jersey State Police have nice french blue uniforms. Very sharp. I believe General Schwarzkopf or his father designed them. I also understand the uniform design has received awards for best looking.Comment

The color scheme on our uniforms is fine. But I absolutley can not stand Polyester. It also doesn't hold up well at all in thisck underbrush and palmetto scrubs.
Our K-9 guys wear the cotton BDUs, "Because they are frequently in thick underbrush on tracks." However policy (and common sense) also dictates that they have a backup man while on a track, but all of us backup men still have to wear polyester. Figure that one out.Comment

Sacramento County, CA deputies used to wear brown on brown. Yuck! They're black on black now, they may be hot as hell, but at least they look good. I also hate the white shirts I've seen in Florida and some Cleveland, OH suburbs, their officers look like security guards or paramedics.
But by far the worst has to be the green on green I've seen of some FL deputies. Ugh, not only do they look like sanitation workers with a gun, their 5-point badges look like they came out of a cereal box.Last edited by lsmalibu; 08-16-2005, 01:24 AM.*Not a cop*👍 1Comment

I'm also very fond of the Alameda County CA Sheriff's uniforms; grey top and dark navy trousers. Nice change of pace from the LA County clones all the other sheriff's deputies seem to be wearing*Not a cop*Comment

Man black uniforms in Sacramento County....that's gotta be miserable in the summer (well on days anyways).
I'm not a huge fan of brown uniforms (not tans, but actual brown) nor am I a fan of jumpsuits.Hail hail the gang's all here, when the going gets tough I know my friends will still be there. - Drop Kick Murphys, "The Gang's all Here"Comment

We are Navy on Navy, looks pretty good. Years before I started with the city they were Tan and Brown, ewww.
Still the best uniform out there is the Ohio State Highway Patrol, they have a look that definitely commands your attention. Its like the SS is stopping you for speeding. Sheriffs Office is a close second, as long as they fit in the with BSSA.Comment
