Had hip and knee replacement from being pulled off a bridge on a suicide call. Hope everyone is doing well. Fell about 60 feet into a canal and marsh. I was sitting behind my cushy desk and decided to go for ride. Instead of letting a district car handle it I was right there so I decided to talk to him. I didn't know but he was on drugs and depressed because his wife had filed for divorce. Just a 21 year old kid. I was in plain clothes. He jumped and on the way down happened to grab my coat. Hurting alot that's why I haven't been on the forum. Just wanted to tell everone Hello and be carefull.

Oh dear God, I am glad that you are okay. How is the young man?

That is terrible to hear. I hope you are tending to any mental wounds as much as any physical ones. I can't imagine what you must be going through.

It's good to know you're alive and still functioning! I'm sorry you had to endure such a thing. I'll say a prayer for you this evening at my Shabbat gathering.M.E.Comment

The causeway is only 10 feet high except at the draw bridges. Your family must live in Mandeville or Covington. It's 24 miles long over Lake Ponchatrain. Then you just fall in the water. It's beautiful over there. My daughter lives in Mandeville but everyone mostly commutes to New Orleans every day to work since there are few jobs over there. Then they have the fog season when the police convoys 10 cars at a time to New Orleans to avoid accidents. 48 miles a day is quite a commute with the speed limit 45.However it is beautiful, my daughter drives it every day.Stay safe and watch your back. That's terrible !!! I'm so glad you're going to be OK. Are both the same side/leg? I think this is a good lesson/reminder for those of us that don't deal with this sort of thing, if someone is going to jump don't get too close to them!!! Sounds like you are very lucky to be alive!!!Have you ever noticed? Anybody going slower than you is an idiot, and anyone going faster than you is a maniac.Comment
