  • R. Lee Ermey, My Hero

I love this guy, he is a straight up man.
I love "Mail Call" on the History Channel too.
    He unloads on Babs...
    --------------------------------------------------
R Lee Ermey, who made his name as the fearsome drill sergeant in the film Full Metal Jacket, told The Telegraph that Streisand's views were far from representative of Hollywood as a whole.

"Once again, Barbra Streisand has opened her alligator-sized mouth wide before her humming-bird brain has had a chance to catch up," said Ermey. "Of course, she has the right to her opinion, but what she does is use the 'bully pulpit', helped by her fame, and people think she's talking for Hollywood."

Ermey, an ex-marine and outspoken supporter of Mr Bush and the war on terror, continued: "We need to do something about the situation before it turns round and bites us in the ***. Democrats are criticising President Bush for not spotting signs that 9/11 was coming. But they don't want him to act to stop the next disaster. Ms Streisand does not speak for me or many other folks in this business."

It's funny you brought him up. I watched an episode of "Mail Call" a few weeks ago. That was the first time I'd seen him since watching FMJ years ago. After MC was over, I was channel surfing and, lo and behold, there's good ol' R. Lee in some old movie on TNN or TBS or one of those channels. He played the part of some sheriff running for re-election in TX or LA or somewhere down there.

Sorry to say, the few minutes I watched were so bad that I continued my channel surfing.
Caution and worry never accomplished anything.

i thought hollywood was the true voice of the American people? i mean with so many stars such as streisand, asner, sheen, baldwin, sarandon and such speaking up for the poor oppressed working class American, shouldn't the capital of our country be moved there?? couldn't we make the Viper Room our new hall of congress??

"froi gras for every one!! pot in every chicken!! ban the suv's for the environment's sake (while we, the stars, cruise in our 20 foot limos!!!). save the whales (but kill more sturgeon for our caviar). free open borders with mexico (so we can have more cheap labor to pick and stomp on our grapes for our napa valley wine and high priced champagne)"

"all we are saaaayyyinnnggg....is give socialism a chaaaaannnnnce........"

      "heil hitlary!!!!"

is it any wonder so many of them end up in rehab because they start to actually believe their own horse$H!t and self importance??

      I'll post, You argue.

"Switchback" with Dennis Quaid and Danny Glover. Pretty good flick.
