  • MET A HERO TODAY!

For those of you familiar with the Navajo Code Talkers of WWII......

My university hosts an annual powwow and he was one of the many guests of honor. His name was Joe Morris and I have to say being a former Marine that I was humbled to be in his presence.

He was one of the most humble individuals I have ever met. I was amazed at his modesty.

To me, he and the other Code Talkers, have a special place in history! The are definitely unsung heroes.

Too bad it took a Hollywood production after most of those guys have already died for the public at large to have any hint of who they are or what they did. Same goes for just about every unit in WWII.......Even with the movie Saving Private Ryan, the real "Ryan" family barely got any recognition. Bill Mauldin is dying in a nursing home and they're finally making a big deal about publicly recognizing his contribution.
