Umm, why is it all important to have a take home car? I'll bet you dollars to donuts that no dept has a take home policy for rookies.

            At least he is honest.

BTW, you want a take home car? Move to Utah. Almost every department gives you a take home car.

Anytime. But honestly, would you rather me tell you what is gonna make you happy or what is the truth?

True that. You know, he could just by a used CV and deck it out....

Actually, here in Utah, TWO of my friends that I went to the academy with, both got BRAND NEW cars when they were hired with their individual agencies.

                    Car

Nah, Police cruisers are usually beat to crap when they are sold off...

Plus, I like them when they look all fancy in their color schemes with the lights and stuff...

Plus, it would fill my ego.

Really? Around here you don't see take home cars for anybody except Sgt's on the county and state pd's. Local agencies don't give take home car's.

Ok, I guess you are not a wannabe. But if you ever post a thread in the ask a cop section saying "I just bought a used cv because I think cop cars are dead sexy. Am I lame?" I will track you down.

                          Wow!!

AirmanE3, have you ever stayed awake while you were going through OPSEC? It's cool that you are proud of your service, but why would you want to make yourself that much more of a target? I don't think LE is really the career for you. I heard Barnum and Bailey are hiring!

Honestly. Actually, I don't know an agency that doesn't allow their officers to take home their cars. Even the agency I work for. It is up in the mountains and about 30 miles away from Salt Lake City where the majority of the officers live. They allow the officers to take home their cars.

                              Opsec?

I live on a military installation, they all know what I do anyway, half of them see me at the gates!

Besides, I live in Europe and never leave base (with the exception of driving to the other base for work).
