  • I'm published!

Two of my photos made the front page of the local paper I started freelancing for. My scanner will only handle 8.5x11 so I only scanned in a portion of it.

Not the most exciting photos, but you have to start somewhere, right? I had to reduce the quality a lot too on this linked image to cut down on file size.

      Hey...I can SEE those pics!

Just out of curiosity, what camera and film(speed/brand) do you use?

Thats's wonderful, Rachel! My son has really gotten into photography and is getting quite good at it. I took his camera into the hospital when he had his surgery and encouraged him to take pictures of things in his room to practice. What I GOT was a pictures of all the pretty nurses, the pervert! LOL!
You did a great job, Rachel! Congratulations!

          Shooter,

The photos taken in that link were both digital. I also use a film SLR camera. It depends on the shot shich camera I will use.

Right now I am using an old Ricoh that my father gave me when I turned 18. It's basically my first "real" camera and has a few different lenses and some filters that I purchased. This is the camera that I used to learn about photography and I'm very comfortable with it.

For night shots of the Christmas lights, I used a 800 speed Fugi Superia film. Since it is such a fast film, you don't have to hold the shutter open as long so you can take more shots, and they won't get blurry.

I'm buying a new Nikon at the end of this month though.. I'm thinking of purchasing the Nikon N65. It comes with a 28-80 lens and retails for about $329. Then with the $60 rebate, I'll put that towards a zoom lens.

                  Congrats!

It looks like a nice, sharp picture. It is better than that other one that I saw recently where I had to step back 200 yards to bring it into focus.

Congrats! I am also into photos. Used to even have my own dark room.

Now, though, I'm into a different kinds of filters.
