i'm not an LEO but i do work very closely with officers in the field. maybe there should be an option on the poll for those of us that dispatch or work office jobs. my dispatch center is located inside a jail, so we could find ourselves in high risk situations very easily.

Never really wanted to be a cop, but after the corps I didn't want to shine shoes in the airport, wax floors at the high school, dig ditches, or re-enlist, and I couldn't afford to take out the ad in Soldier of Fortune.
So now I'm a cop, never was a wannabe, until now...
Now I wannabe somewhere else !!!!!!"there is no hunting like the hunting of man and those who have hunted armed men long enough and liked it, never really care for anything else thereafter." Ernest HemingwayComment

Much to the dismay of many on here, I am LEO. Still in training....but I made it.
I will say as a prospective coming on this site, I did learn a lot from the LEO's that post, but I do like to chat and have a laugh when the stress gets high too. When I'll be the girl that you love, you'll be the boy that I hate...Comment

Civilian....but interviewing this week for at least one department and waiting to hear from several others.
....Does that make me an almost retired wannabe....or just an idiot??Last edited by zap; 07-16-2005, 02:20 PM.An impressionable child in a tumultuous world, and they say I'm at a difficult stage... --Meat Loaf

To be or not to be...that is the question.
My problem is deciding if I want to be one or not. Starting next year I will have to make a decision. (Going on 27 years) Retirement is a becoming a light at the end of the tunnel.Job description as told by an old timer: "Drive fast cars, look at pretty women, and drink coffee".Comment

Originally posted by WelpeHey Tennsix, maybe you want to make this a public poll so we can see everybody's answers? Not sure if you can edit it and make it that, but it'd be interesting to see the end results.
Just for FYI, I am a civilian with LEO aspirations.Comment
