Wow! Tonight's episode was incredible, it just seems to keep getting better and better.
I am most impressed by "Faith", her role has to be one of the more realistic portrayals of a female police officer that I have seen.
Anyone think like I do....? I have a feeling that Bosco is going to end up doing his new OIC, Sgt. Cruz...and that there will end up being a showdown between Faith and Cruz, hopefully with Cruz getting knocked on her skanky ***!

I liked Cruz, at first, mainly because she said some things to Bosco that Faith was just too nice to say. However, last night killed it for me...I hated to see her as a corrupt cop. I really wanted to see Bosco go back to Faith, or at least be honest with her...

What I want to know is why Bosco didn't put a few rounds into the BG in a non-lethal arrangment. I know you shoot to stop, and that means COM or head, but he had a gun on him while the BG was reloading, and clearly wasn't go to do anything at all...at what point exactly was he going to stop his own murder?

So...nice ride, but the arm-chair critic wasn't horribly impressed with some parts.

    Good for Davis though...

NYPD cops, help me out with this one. If a 9 year old witness and EMTs got shot up in the 'real world' there would be a friggin' platoon assigned to catch the perp, right?

I realize it's just a TV show but they could have used a techinical advisor on that one.

Davis was crazy, what a great assignment that was. That's where the show REALLY could have used a TA.

Can someone please tell Bosco to stop holding his gun sideways like a gangbanger!

I can't understand Bosco's LACK of pursuit of an ARMED felon. He had the guy 'dead to rights' after the EMT shooting....and ALLOWED him to simply 'walk away'.

I've always thought Third Watch was one of the better cop shows. Even though I don't like some of the characters or at least the way they do things, that's why they're that way, so that we like some & don't like others. I was a little disappointed in Bosco for not putting the shooter down at the bus station & then getting so upset about it when he did get shot. I know he wanted the boss man but don't get hurt over it.

Yeah, the whole 'dying declaration' scene at the ending was total BS. According to the rules of evidence, a dying declaration must be about the circumstances or direct cause of the victim's impending death (ie. telling officers who shot him). Statements about matters more remote in time that are not directly responsible for the victim's impending death don't fall under the dying declaration exception to the hearsay rule.

However I saw an episode where they had a shootout in a restaurant with 2 gangs (russkies and bros)and I thought it was so unrealistic it was laughable
After the big shootout they all just carried on back to work? not even a typwriter in sight...

                    shooter-
I thought that the reactions portrayed by Bosco and the others in the wake of the shooting were some of the more realistic that I've seen. It showed clearly that no one is going to react the same way and that sometimes no matter how prepared you think you are, you might not behave the way you think you will. I've been there and each time it has been a learning process for me, and each reaction was different.
I was probably doing the same thing that you were during the scene...I was screaming at the TV, "Shoot him! Blow his *** away!" LOL
They did a good job with the casting on that perp, he was one scary dude!
And, I TOTALLY agree with the comment about Bosco and holding his gun like a 'banger!

Don't you just love it when the hero blows up a drug lab in a downtown building, kills a half dozen bad guys, including the head man who is a major celebrity, personality, politician, or something, frees the kidnapped woman hostage who feels so obligated that she immediately goes to bed with him, & then turns to his partner & says, "Come on, let's go get a cup of coffee". There is no paperwork in TV land.

what about statements made against self-interest when declarant is now dead? the perp "said" i tried to kill the kid b/c i was following the orders of so-and-so. in essense, he is confessing to shooting the kid, and implementing his boss for ordering the hit.

I'm waiting for the producers to come up with a realistic story line for a cross-over show between third watch and Law and order. This was done once before with L&O and Homicide. Also would like to see a cross over show tieing in all three L&O's.

No. It MUST be about the direct cause of the death of the declarant. The dying declaration cannot pertain to other matters.

does the skinny white guy (i think his name is Munch) from L&O SVU play the same character as he did in Homicide?

as for crossovers, there was a small one with anita van buren (the boss from the original L&O) and SVU.
