  • Long Beach Area

Hello all i had one qucik question. Are there any POST academies in the Long Beach Area put on by private companies? thanks...if this isn't clear enough i can add more info...thanks again

I'm assuming you mean Long Beach, California, and in that case, no. All POST Academies in CA are put on by California Community Colleges, by the state, or by local police departments if they're large enough.

I am curious as to why you're asking, though. Why would you want to go through an academy run by a private company?

The ones put on by a Community College and not by a PD or SO are Fullerton College (in Fullerton, natch)

        Rio Hondo in Whittier
        http://www.riohondo.edu/leo/Police%2...tle%20page.htm

and Golden West in Huntington Beach.

And if it matters, there are some Academies run by PD's or SO's that will let you enroll as a non-affiliate.

        Hope this helps.

Both Fullerton College and Rio Hondo are the closest to LB. Depends on what your looking to get out of it. If you are young & no military I'd suggest RH otherwise you'll get a better education out of FCPA. I went to FCPA so I'm a bit partial. Here is my web site where all my academy notes are, download and have fun. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/CABasicPolice/
"Respect for religion must be reestablished. Public debt should be reduced. The arrogance of public officials must be curtailed. Assistance to foreign lands must be stopped or we shall bankrupt ourselves. The people should be forced to work and not depend on government for subsistence." - Cicero, 60 B.C.
