  • One more Oral announcement.

Well I have been applying at various departments and passed the written and the physical at one and have my first "Oral" coming up this week. This department, we'll call Dept#2, was very fast in regards to their test sequencing. I had the written one day, if you pass it you take the physical test the next day and if you pass that you have the Oral interview the following week. Well I passed them both (written & physical), so "Oral" interview here I come.
I say fast because I took the written test at Dept#1 one month ago(5-22-05) and received my results (which were a pass) on the same day as Dept#2 which I had taken the written test last Thursday(6-23-05). So according to these new/different results I have an "Oral" interview with Dept#1 within the next 30 days also.
I have found it interesting to see the differences departmentally, in test section sequencing. Well anyways here I am, another individual attempting make it into LE. It will happen, maybe not this time, but it will happen. I have not posted much on this site but I have read a lot and the input that I have studied will help me vastly. Thank you all for your contributions.

The first thing that came to my mind after reading the thread title was:

    Aren't all announcements oral?

I know I know, not all of them are, but you know...it's late.

    Good luck on the Oral!

Hehe, I understand. I almost had a "No pun intended" qualifier at the end of the title on my original post but decided against it. Thank you.

That is the situation I am in as well. I went through the testing process at one dept and passed the written, was notified by mail that I passed as well as when my physical would be. I passed the physical and then went to another written test the same day. After that I was again notified by mail that I passed that, as well as when my oral would be. I took my oral and passed and then took the poly and passed. After that a few weeks later I received a call from my girlfried (now wife) that she got a call from a BI and then everyone on my PHQ started to be called. Halfway through my background they froze the acadamy, by then I realized that I did not want to be an officer in that city.

Last Friday I took the written for another dept, passed it and took the physical the next day, passed that and I have my oral this week. I think what it comes down to is the need that the dept has... in the city where I am it is growing at an amazing rate and they have 5 open acadamy positions booked every month from now until August 2007... I think that might be why some move faster then others.
