Going hunting........again

Well, came up with a big fat zero for bear season here. Didn't even hear any shots. All i got was sore feet.

Monday is opening day for deer. Plan on being up and at 'em by 4am.

Have trial on Tues at 8am Blasted idiot is going to cost me a day of hunting and vacation!!!

Anyone want any deer jerky???

Bears give meat, skin, fur, fat for cooking, fat for bug-repellent, fat for storage, teeth for scrimshaw art, claws for digging and decoration, stomach for water carrying, brains for tanning, tendons for sewing, ligiments for tying....

I'm not a smeamish person,but I helped gut a bear once- it was like doing an autopsy on a person- abeit an obese person.

Yeah... they do like like a guy with a potbelly, especially when you hang them up by the front legs to gut em.

I've only seen one bear in Oregon. It was VERY small. I grabbed my camera to shoot it, and my gun to shoot mama in case she tried to eat me. But he ran off before I could get the zoom lens on.

I'm not sure about that tooth art or water carrying stuff... all of my art is created with my camera. And I use canteens and my Camelbak to carry water. I use bug-repellant for bug-repellant, string for sewing, and my E-tool for digging. I don't personally tan, but I've never heard of anyone taking a bear brain into the tanning booth.

Yes, that's how the hollywood personalities maintain their tan. It's not done in ordinary tanning centers / booths because of the cost. But yes, it is done.

(btw, tanning booths (beds) are VERY relaxing !!, I used to go all the time).
