A suspected serial killer has been charged with murder after DNA evidence from a bitten penis helped link him to the deaths of two Brooklyn hookers.
Lee Van Glahn, 43, was indicted after Assistant DA Heide Mason presented a grand jury with DNA evidence from a piece of skin prosecutors suspect was bitten from his penis during one of the slayings.
Mason said that victim, Joanne Washington, 36, bit Van Glahn's penis before she was strangled Jan. 26, 2002 at a playground at Schenectady Avenue and Bergen Street in Bedford-Stuyvesant.
Her slaying was startlingly similar to the suffocation murder of Arlene Brumfield, 40, two months earlier. Her body was found Nov. 29, 2001, at the Carver Playground across from Marion Street in Bedford-Stuyvesant.
DNA evidence matched in both murders - indicating the same man was responsible for both slayings, authorities said.
