I had a lengthy discussion with a Trooper at the Huntington, WV detachment regarding hiring, current Trooper issues and such. The state legislature's 2002 session is to be finalized around the 15th of March (this month).
All persons who are currently on the mailing list for the position of Trooper will be notified via postal mail; entailing instructions for the newly revised application and taking the written exam. The written exam is expected to be administered at the WVSP Training Acadamy in Institue, WV.
If you are interested in applying, you will have to get on the mailing list and request via e-mail to be notified for taking the written examination. Although the revised application supercedes the old, all those who have applied in the past should know that getting on the mailing list will get you the new application and doing so will not effect your status as an applicant that as already applied.
The new application will be sent to the mailing address you provide. Applications will go out as soon as funding is appropriated for the WVSP. When the WVSP gets its new buget nailed down, a recruiting campaign will be initiated: said to be in mid March.
