  • DoD police vs. Military Police (need assistance)

I'm looking for anyone that knows of any studies, literary or professional journals that discuss the benefits of having a Department of Denfense Police force compared to a Military Police force. I am working on my Masters thesis and any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

not sure where you can find any thing in writing, but as an MP one of the benifits of DOD over an MP is stability, MP is there at the most 3 years DOD is there till he quits/retires. MP is easyer to replace if he/she screws up DOD long process to fire/remove. DOD dont care who you are, you still gonna get the ticket, MP has to worry about the boss chewing his butt, or re asigining him for writing that ticket. there are probly more, but that is all i can think of right now.

I'm am MP and my "boss" would never re-assign me for writing a ticket to anyone who deserved it. I wish getting an assignment was that easy....

I am a "DoD" officer, well they call us DA (Dept of Army) Police now, but that is a story in its own. I would refer you the USAMPS (United States Army Military Police School) at http://www.wood.army.mil/usamps for contact information.

If you are looking to talk to some folks that work for any branch of service civilian police, you can go to the Yahoo website at http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/dodpoliceofficers

If you have any questions you want to shoot at me, drop me an email at [email protected]
Do it right the first time, or leave it alone!
