I really want to live along the water. i cannot afford to live at the Jersey shore, and we cant afford to keep the family house now that mom is gone.

I was thinking of Maine before, but i might check out Cape Cod. i really love it there. all i need is a very small house, and it doesnt have to be on the ocean, as long as its salt water a marsh or bay would be fine. i cant stand the heat, so i cant see myself moving south. i hear alot of good things about NC though, and i did have a couple good vacations along the shore there.

I'd love to live in NC or TN but I'll never get my Florida boy husband to move further north then we are now. I do like living 5 minutes from the beach though. I would probably miss the beaches if we moved. I just hate the Florida summers though.

Mitzi, now I gotta keep my wife away from you too! First Desert Rat posts about his great new house in Nevada, now you're bragging about your beach in Florida My wife would kill to live by a beach, but- I HATE the heat. The 90 degree summers here are plenty for me! Fortunately I think I can keep her out of Florida because of the bugs

The Florida summers are a bear. We lived in central Florida most of our lives, transferring to northeast Florida when our son was 2. We like it better here. But there are bugs. I swear the palmetto bugs are going to need collars and a license too.
But here is where I will stay. I won't get my husband any further north. He was born in Florida and was my son but I was born in West Virginia.
