Pennsylvania Capitol Police
Is there anyone in here that works for PA's Capitol Police? I was just curious about them (since I applied for a PO job with them). Do they have a take-home car program?

I don`t think so. One of the part timers here just started with them about a month ago. They make about $5000 a year less than the staties. I`ll probably see him in the next week or so as he still works here and we`re going shooting.Life is like a 3 ring circus and cops have a front row seat. It`s The Greatest Show On Earth. -
Are you actually processing for the Capitol Police?
I know that the test is for Capitol Police/Security. The last time I took that particular test they didn't have any positions open up.
When I got the availability survey it was for a security position at a youth correctional facility East of Harrisburg. And to top it off it was a temporary position. Like I'm gonna move for a job that may only last a few months.
I told them I wasn't going to come for the interview. I think they combine the job classifications so they get people to apply for the youth facility guard position.
Another one that they alway have an opening for is the "Veteran's Affairs Police Officer" which is a Patrolman position at Ft Indiantown Gap. The Army used to have MP's patrol it, but since the base was "closed" the Regular Army turned it over to PA.
FYI- that department only has 4 officers.
Consider taking the test for DCNR Ranger, we are down one Ranger this year and will probably work the year without filling the position. (Isn't this new Governor great?
If you take the test you'll be on the list when we hire next.

OWB - Check your PM's.
They still have an open announcement for DCNR Rangers.
You're too late for the season, unless someone leaves mid-season. If you take it now you'll be on the list for next spring.
