  • How's this for justice...........

    Brighton, colo.
Former Adams County, Co. sheriff's Deputy, Richard Henn, had been sentenced to 4 years in prison for not preventing the abuse that left his 8 yr. old son disabled. Henn was charged with Negligent child abuse for not stopping his wife from injuring the boy. Henn was also ordered to pay $242,000 in resitution for his sons medical bills. Sentences for Negilgent Child Abuse range from Probation to 8yrs.
In another negligent child abuse case, Marco Ocho-Lainez and Lillian Barrios pleaded guilty to negligent child abuse after they left 4 yr. old Abel Muoz, whom they were baby-sitting, asleep in their car, while they went shopping, resulting in the boys death due to heat related injuries. Both were sentenced to probation for the death of the toddler.

There is a lot of missing information in the first case. How badly was the boy disabled, what happened to the wife, did the deputy really know what was going on or was he just not observant. The boy lived but, depending on how badly he was disabled, he might have been better off if he had died.

In the second case the baby died because of the stupidity of two adults. He should never have been left alone in the car. Besides just heat, there were other dangers - kidnapping, injured or killed if another car had hit the one he was left in,, etc. They shouldn't get off with just probation.
